The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time permanent Manager, Stewardship and Donor Relations to join our Philanthropy team.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Partnerships, the Manager, Stewardship and Donor Relations plays a key role in deepening donor engagement with March of Dimes Canada (MODC) and leads all aspects of stewardship, donor recognition, and communications. You will provide fundraisers with the tools they need to stewardship relationships and drive revenue for key funding priorities at March of Dimes Canada

 

Responsibilities

•    In partnership with key stakeholders, lead the development and oversee the implementation of donor recognition programs, including donor matrices, policies, standards, and processes 
•    Create annual and campaign donor listings for MODC publications and assets with exceptional accuracy 
•    Provide strategic insights to enhance stewardship and recognition programs using best practices and emerging trends
•    Develop and write meaningful donor communications, including impact reports, presentation decks, thank-you materials, invoice letters, and pledge reminders
•    Gather and analyze data to craft compelling narratives and ensure alignment with brand guidelines and philanthropic strategic goals 
•    Initiate calls with prospects and donors to discuss giving interests, share impact, and strengthen relationships
•    Deliver compelling presentations to donors and stakeholders in formal and informal settings
•    Partner with Philanthropy and Program teams to design and implement stewardship strategies, plans, and tools that strengthen donor relationships and enhance philanthropic impact
•    Monitor and track recognition deliverables across campaigns for timely execution
•    Support donor proposals by providing strategic input and ensuring alignment with donor matrix and brand guidelines
•    Draft and facilitate gift agreements with accurate recording in the CRM system 
•    Support relationship managers by ensuring recognition and stewardship commitments outlined in Gift Agreements are fulfilled on schedule 
•    Manage invitation lists, RSVPs, and records for donor events; contribute to event planning and execution


Qualifications and experience

•    Post-secondary level education either from a university or college or acceptable combination of experience related to fundraising, communications, marketing or related fields
•    Minimum five years of experience in a fundraising environment, with a focus on stewardship
•    Proven ability to manage the development and implementation of donor recognition programs, including donor matrices, policies, standards, and processes
•    Demonstrated experience creating compelling donor communications, including impact reports, thank-you materials, and presentations 
•    Experience generating and reviewing donor reports and lists to support stewardship activities and maintain data accuracy
•    Skilled in designing and executing stewardship strategies, plans, and tools that deepen donor engagement
•    Experience drafting and facilitating donor gift agreements and maintaining accurate donor records in CRM systems
•    Excellent verbal communication and relationship-building skills for engaging donors through calls, virtual meetings, and one-on-one conversations
•    Strong public speaking and presentation skills for delivering compelling key messages to internal and external stakeholders
•    Exceptional writing, proofreading, and editing skills
•    Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Marketing & Communications, Philanthropy, and Programs, to ensure strategic alignment 
•    High attention to detail with superior organizational and time-management skills; able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
•    Knowledge of best practices and emerging trends in stewardship and donor recognition
•    Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Salesforce CRM, and related databases
•    Familiarity with and commitment to the needs of people with disabilities; Bilingual in French considered an asset
•    Occasionally required to work overtime on weekdays and weekends
