The opportunity

 The Program Coordinator will be responsible for the administrative duties for the SkillingUp program. The Program Coordinator will a play pivotal role in ensuring the success of service in the SDE programs and support the SkillingUp team with day-to-day tasks, ensuring that all aspects of the SkillingUP program are processed in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with organization and funder policies. The individual must have an advanced level of digital literacy and be well versed in all Microsoft products. Excellent communication and customer service skills are also required to respond to client inquiries and to troubleshoot and resolve minor IT issues. Strong time management skills are required to manage high volumes of work with fluctuating demands and priorities. The individual will be dealing with confidential information and must adhere relevant privacy policies. This role focuses on providing tailored support to adult and youth learners, facilitating accessibility, and enhancing their overall learning experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, inclusion, and technology, as well as a strong commitment to fostering equitable opportunities for individuals with disabilities

 

Responsibilities

•    Provide direct support to the SkillingUp team by receiving, reviewing and processing client applications, coordinating webinars and assembling program data.
•    Establish good foundational processes (client management, data entry, and records management) to ensure contract compliance, and smooth program operation.
•    Ability to explain program, workflows and platform to clients including program requirements, registration assistance, progress check-in, exam assignment and help desk support. 
•    Provide front-line customer support through phone calls and virtual meetings, with occasional in-person interactions.
•    Monitor and track learner progress, identifying and addressing barriers to success.
•    Build positive, supportive relationships to foster learner confidence and engagement.
•    Collaborate with the program team to design and implement accommodations (e.g., assistive technologies, alternative formats).
•    Advocate for learner needs and provide feedback to improve program accessibility.
•    Contribute to program evaluations by providing feedback on learner experiences and outcomes.
•    Work closely with the program team to ensure a seamless learner experience.
•    Contribute to team meetings and share insights to enhance program delivery.
•    Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications and experience

•    A Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Check are required as a condition upon hire.
•    Post-secondary education or equivalent in a related field of study.
•    Experience in customer-facing roles with administrative/IT tasks.
•    Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, and high aptitude for learning, retaining and using new computer software.
•    Experience working with individuals with disabilities or other equity-deserving groups 
•    Fluency in French is an asset 
•    Excellent communication skills, written and oral; ability to produce grammatically accurate emails, letters and informal communications.
•    Ability to troubleshoot minor IT issues 
•    Excellent interpersonal skills: a team player that can accept responsibility and cooperate and communicate with others to accomplish organizational goals.
•    Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
•    Highly organized and strong time management skills
•    Flexible to changing demands of the job.
•    Attention to detail and accuracy.
