Our Community Support Services (CSS) team provides essential services that enable our clients to thrive. Whether their disability is physical, the result of brain injury, or aging, our more than 2,000 team members assist clients in their homes and across communities, to live as independently as possible.
Opportunity (brief description of the role)
This is a Permanent Full-Time Community Support Leader – Hamilton ALS working form our Hamilton Location: #608-185 Jackson Street East, Hamilton, ON, L8N 4H5
This position is eligible for the $3.00 per hour temporary wage enhancement from the Ontario government for hours spent directly supporting clients.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Lead and support attendants in providing non-medical daily living assistance to consumers.
- Collaborate with the Community Support Supervisor to develop and manage consumer schedules and service agreements.
- Provide orientation, coaching, and on-the-job training for new attendants.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Manage change and resolve service delivery conflicts constructively.
- Display diplomacy with consumers, staff, and external agencies.
Qualifications and experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities and knowledge of consumer-based care.
- Skills in transferring, lifting, and bowel/bladder routines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
