The opportunity
The Senior Manager, Tech Programs will be responsible for the overall management and coordination of Tech programs including SkillingUp with services provided across Canada. They will develop and support the Director, Skills Development and Employment with the design and expansion opportunities of tech programs across Canada. As a member of the Management team, the Senior Manager plays a critical role in helping March of Dimes Canada (MODC) achieve its vision to provide high-quality programs locally and nationally.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Director of Skills Development and Employment in developing and driving Tech programs including SkillingUp and any future technology programming to achieve programmatic objectives and outcomes.
- Implement initiatives relating to the strategic direction and goals of the Skills Development and Employment and Tech Programs function within the framework of the organization's strategic plan and annual operating plans.
- Participate in building and maintaining positive working relationships across the organization through effective communication, performance improvement, and teamwork efforts.
- Monitor the effectiveness of Tech programs with a continuous improvement model and provide guidance and suggestions on programmatic improvements to meet professional practices and funder requirements/expectations.
- Lead and mentor team members in program delivery, including setting objectives, managing performance, and ensuring professional development.
- Support the implementation and management of the annual program budget and expenditures in conjunction with designated team members.
- Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships with the network of community service organizations and other stakeholders.
- Support the Director of Skills Development and Employment with grant writing, reporting, tactical documents (SWOT/SMART/GAP analysis, annual workplans, and operational workplans either for single use or ongoing use), and related tasks.
- Co-lead/Lead internal and external projects (e.g., Enterprise-wide projects, line of business projects, external grants, research projects, or community-based partnership projects and opportunities).
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Minimum of 5-7 years experience working in the disability and/or not-for-profit sectors, including supporting people with disabilities.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation is required.
- Experience leading and managing a multi-disciplinary team of staff.
- Experience developing and implementing National programming, including digital, technology, and innovative program that enhance technology and digital skills for Canadians living with a disability.
- Experience engaging community partners and cultivating strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Experience leading operations and service delivery transformation initiatives, including process improvements.
- Knowledge of business metrics, key performance indicators, program scorecards/dashboards, theories of change, evidence-informed/evidence-based practice, and measurement-based outcomes.
- Strong understanding of change management, privacy policies, risk mitigation, and crisis planning.
- Proven organizational abilities and capacity to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, including mediation, negotiation, advocacy, consultation, and collaboration.
- Bilingualism (English/French or other language) is an asset.
