Our Community Support Services (CSS) team provides essential services that enable our clients to thrive. Whether their disability is physical, the result of brain injury, or aging, our more than 2,000 team members assist clients in their homes and across communities, to live as independently as possible. 

About This Opportunity

We are currently looking to fill 1 Full-Time Position as a PSW/Support Service Attendant/Health Care Aide in the Niagara Region.

  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Wage: Starting wage is dependent on current wage, with paid travel time and mileage
  • Requirements:
    • Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable vehicle

Duties Include:

  • Assisting consumers in their own homes with non-medical activities of daily living in accordance with individual service plans and March of Dimes Canada policies:
    • Personal care
    • Dressing/Grooming
    • Rising/Retiring
    • Incontinence care (upon training)
    • Meal preparation and feeding
    • Range of motion exercises
    • Light housekeeping duties
    • Lifts and transfers (upon training)
  • Performing duties professionally, respecting the dignity and privacy of consumers, and maintaining health and safety
  • Working multiple shifts (days, evenings, weekends, holidays) varying across locations in the Niagara Region

Background / Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience with individuals with physical disabilities, older adults, or as an informal caregiver is an asset but not required
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Physical Demands Self-Analysis required upon hire
  • Ability to work flexible and regularly scheduled hours
  • Required: Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable vehicle
