The opportunity:

The Brand Specialist (24 month contract) will play an essential role at a time of exciting growth and transformation for our organization. In this new contract role, the incumbent will bring their strong brand and marketing knowledge, organizational and project management abilities, relationship-building acumen, and creative talents to the work to help us build and launch a winning brand. They will also ensure brand consistency while helping drive brand awareness. This role will provide an exceptional opportunity for the incumbent to gain new skills, abilities, and knowledge to further professional growth and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and execution of strategies and plans for a digital-first brand marketing strategy, including digital platforms, campaigns, assets, and related materials
  • Support production and media buying activities, actioning, maintaining, and reporting on progress in an ongoing manner
  • Assist in analyzing marketing data to help track and report on brand health and performance
  • Leverage project-management practices and systems to maintain brand marketing project roadmaps, coordinate project activities, monitor progress, and communicate updates to key stakeholders
  • Control, process, and coordinate brand marketing contracting, billing, and ongoing financial monitoring and reporting
  • Coordinate and support budget health and maintenance, lending to the completion of projects on time and within budget
  • Support and contribute to reporting for senior management and governance on brand marketing progress and performance, incorporating feedback to improve ongoing efforts.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications teams — as well as cross-functionally with other departments — to coordinate the new brand’s build, awareness, adoption efforts, and meet stakeholder needs and expectations
  • Liaise with external vendors, agencies, and production partners, helping maintain important relationships

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, project management (in the marketing or advertising sectors), or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in marketing or advertising
  • Thorough understanding of marketing elements, including traditional and digital marketing, production, and advertising
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, various social media platforms, project-management platforms, and virtual conferencing platforms (Microsoft Teams, Zoom)
  • Understanding of brand, digital marketing, and social media metrics and analytics
  • Excellent writer and editor with a flair for creating compelling copy
  • Up to date on the latest marketing trends and technologies, including the use of Generative AI
  • Creative and strategic thinking skills, including the ability to conceptualize and present compelling ideas and copy decks.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized and able to balance multiple priorities
  • Bilingual in English and French (asset)
  • Having direct or adjacent experience in the not-for-profit sector (asset)
 

Important Details

  • Location:   This role will be hybrid and employees are expected to work from our Toronto office (99 Duncan Mill Rd., Toronto, ON M3B 1Z2) two days per week.
